Mohd Uzir said on a monthly basis, the PPI Local Production went up by 0.5 per cent as compared with 1.6 per cent in March 2024. Mohd Uzir said the crude palm oil futures contract on Bursa Malaysia hovered above RM4,000 per tonne following a surge in crude oil prices, amid rising prices of rival oils.
Mohd Uzir noted that the geopolitical tensions in the Middle East have been pushing up prices of key commodities such as oil and gold.
