Stampede relocates some attractions to improve safety, accessibility yyc

“It’s just a more thoughtful layout, so we’re not getting as many large crowds congregating in the middle of the grounds.”

“People will be able to take in some really high-quality music, big names that are free with admission, so we want to make sure they have have as much room as possible,” said Jason Coxford, Stampede’s director of corporate communications.Article contentGavin Young/Postmedia Coxford said with the south line LRT construction and BMO Centre’s $500-million expansion to finish by June 2024, the Stampede is doing its best to manage a final fair with construction disruptions.

“We are ready to do our part to keep Stampede safe and fun for everyone,” said Supt. Joe Brar, adding that Stampede becomes its own police district over 10 days with officers stationed throughout the grounds. The Transit Watch program allows customers to discreetly report any safety concerns by texting safety officers at 74100, or calling for assistance using help phones and buttons placed in strategic locations at CTrain stations, Max Purple stations and on platforms.

“I would say probably the biggest indication we had was during the tarp auction a few months back. It was record-setting,” Gondek said.
