Sri Lanka warns of 'imminent' attacks as bombing death toll is revised

"It could be 250 or 260. I can't exactly say," Anil Jasinghe, the director general of Sri Lanka's health services, said. "There are so many body parts and it is difficult to give a precise figure."

Police officials said on Thursday that they feared there were at least two people on the loose who had planned to be suicide bombers that day. Police said they had information that another attack was imminent, posted the suspects' pictures on social media and urged anyone with information about them to call a hotline.

The bomber then left the hotel for a motel a couple miles away, where he died in an explosion. Officials say he was probably trying to fix the bomb when it detonated.
