Sprinters took center stage on Day 2 of the MTN CHAMPS Grand Final at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo on Wednesday, showcasing spectacular performances and a flurry of personal bests in the 100m events . Chidera Ezeakor, previous winner in Benin and runner-up to Favour Ashe in Lagos, electrified the Senior men's preliminaries with a blazing new PB of 10.35s, securing the fastest qualification ahead of Glory Olokpa (10.44s) and Lucky Daje (10.47s).

In the women's race, Kate Odumoso improved upon her MTN CHAMPS Benin PB by five-hundredths of a second, leading all qualifiers with an impressive 11.55s. Cynthia Chioma shattered her previous best, dropping from 11.65s to 11.56s for a commendable second-place finish, while Sophia Efetobore rounded out the top three with 11.65s. Williams Stephen surged to victory in a PB of 10.77s, dominating his competitors in the qualification round. Team MTN's Alvin Onyeama cruised to an effortless 10.89s win in his heat, with Olerirume Righteous securing the third spot. The Junior women's 100m witnessed a remarkable string of personal bests as Team MVP's Ejiro Peter rocketed to a new PB of 11.89s, significantly surpassing her previous mark of 12.17s to lead all heats. Her teammate Ufuoma Merit followed closely with a PB of 11.90s, while Perezide Sigah also clocked a PB of 11.94s to complete the top three. The men's 400m hurdles saw Emmanuel Salubi emerge victorious, with Nsikak Okon Francis and Moses Eze finishing second and third, respectively. In the junior category, Possible Daniel claimed first place, ahead of Endurance Favour and Goodluck Kabowei
