Soldier killed in suspected police attack
The Delta State police spokesperson, Onome Onovwakpoyeya, told PREMIUM TIMES the matter was being investigated.
Tempers flared when the policemen flashed torch light at the soldiers, asking them to identify themselves, military sources said. Our sources said as other soldiers on sentry duty approached the scene, the policemen abandoned their vehicles and fled, leaving behind some identity and ATM cards. Army spokesperson, Sagir Musa, did not return requests for comment on the attack and if any arrest has been made.
