Governor Ahmad Aliyu of Sokoto State has suspended 14 monarchs recently coronated by the former Governor, Aminu Tambuwal. The newly inaugurated governor also nullified all the appointments made by the former governor into the state civil service and other ministries, departments and agencies after March 19, 2023. Aliyu also nullified the renaming of some tertiary institutions, their relocations and other appointments related to their governing councils and revoked all land allocations made by the former governor.

Tambuwal, Sacks 14 Monarchs, OthersThe newly inaugurated governor also nullified all the appointments made by the former governor into the state civil service and other ministries, departments and agencies after March 19, 2023.

Aliyu also nullified the renaming of some tertiary institutions, their relocations and other appointments related to their governing councils and revoked all land allocations made by the former governor. “The renaming of Tertiary Institutions in the State and other appointments related to their Governing Councils and their relocations announced recently by the outgoing Administration are hereby nullified. All the affected institutions are to revert to their former names and locations.

“All Governing Boards of Parastatals other than Statutory Boards are hereby dissolved with immediate effect. Governor Aliyu who made this known in a special public service announcement signed by his Press Secretary, Abubakar Bawa, did not give any reason for the nullification of the appointments.
