Succour has come the way of People Living With Disabilities (PLWDs) in Sokoto state as Governor Ahmed Aliyu, in fulfilment of his campaign promise, commenced
Recall that Governor Aliyu, in his inauguration speech, promised to reintroduce payment of monthly stipends to PLWDs.
A statement by the Press Secretary to the Governor, Abubakar Bawa made available to journalists said the payment took place in different centers, simultaneously. The three centers located in Sokoto North, Dange Shuni and Gwadabawa local governments, witnessed large turnout of the already screened PLWDs, who received N6,500 each as their monthly stipends, Bawa said in the statement.Abubakar Suleiman, one of the beneficiaries who spoke to our correspondent at the Sokoto North payment center said, “the stipends would go a long way in improving their living condition.
