Sixty-one out of 2511 graduates of the Federal University Lokoja, (FUL), Kogi State, bagged First Class degrees. The Vice Chancellor of FUL Prof. Olayemi Durotimi Akinwunmi disclosed this on Monday at a press briefing held at the institution's campus to mark the sixth and seventh combined convocation ceremony of the university.
According to the vice chancellor, out of the graduands, 99 will be conferred with Masters Degree, while 128 will be honoured with Postgraduate Diploma. A breakdown of the graduands according to the university don, shows that in the sixth set, 28 graduands bagged First Class, 319 Second Class Upper, 736 Second Class Lower, 197 Third Class while three obtained Pass degrees.
He disclosed that in 2023, the institution was ranked 120th best University in Sub Saharan Africa, 17th in Nigeria and ninth among Federal Universities. The Vice Chancellor announced that the university has commenced the departments of Medicine, Nursing and Engineering, while Agriculture, Law, Pharmacy, Psychology and Medical Laboratory Sciences programs are in the pipeline.
