At least six Niger soldiers and 10 suspected terrorists have been confirmed killed during fighting in the west of the country, on Sunday, authorities said. A statement by the National Guard High Command, on Sunday, reported by The DailyStar, said that suspected Islamic jihadists on motorbikes ambushed the troops near the western town of Sanam. In the ensuing battle, six soldiers died and 10 terrorists were neutralised.
