Met Éireann has issued a new thunderstorm warning for seven counties as Ireland's current spell of 'very warm and humid weather' continues.
This is as temperatures are set to reach highs of 28 degrees on Thursday and Friday.In effect until 8am on Saturday, the Met Éireann alert lists the potential impacts of the high temperatures as"heat stress, uncomfortable sleeping conditions and risk of water-related incidents".As for the Irish meteorological service's national outlook for the weekend, it states:"Staying very warm and humid with sunny spells and occasional thundery downpours.
Conditions will become cooler from Monday, however, with Met Éireann's forecast for the rest of next week reading: "Current indications suggest that through the rest of next week, the weather will become more unsettled with rain or showers at times and with temperatures in the mid to high teens."
