Seven die in Osun auto crash

No fewer than seven persons lost their lives in a ghastly motor accident along Akure-Ilesa expressway.

Another eight persons were critically injured in the fatal accident involving an 18-seater commercial bus and a stationary truck.An eyewitness account revealed that the Mercedes Benz passenger bus marked ENUGU NEN 461 ZD with 15 persons on board was on high speed when it rammed into the truck with registration number LAGOS FST 701 XW.The eye witness account further revealed that seven passengers in the bus lost their lives while the remaining eight persons sustained serious injuries.

It was also gathered that the bodies of the victims had been deposited in the morgue of the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital Complex while the injured were being treated in the same hospital. Meanwhile, spokesperson for Osun State Police Command, Mrs. Folasade Odoro, said the State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Babatunde Kokumo, had drafted policemen to the scene of the accident, adding that investigation has commenced immediately to know the cause of the incident.
