KOTA KINABALU: Sabah’s power grid will lose up to 95MW for over a week with one of its independent power producers scaling down due to maintenance work.
Sabah and Labuan Grid System Operator Adrian Mosigil said the IPP Rugading has to be shut down to allow its maintenance in order it would be more reliable in future. “The Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd was informed that the maintenance work will be carried out at the Rugading power station from May 25 to June 2,” he said in a statement Monday .Mosigil said that due to the shutdown, the state’s power grid will have a depleted generation reserve that might force the SESB to carry out scheduled power rationing exercises.
Mosigil then said that this is intended to stabilise the power grid in Sabah in order to subsequently avoid extensive disruption of the electricity supply in the state and Labuan.ZTE spearheads Malaysia's 5G revolution with its ‘Unfolding the Intelligent Future 2024’ event and receives the Malaysia Book of Records’ fastest 5G-Advanced live trial award.
