The Senate on Thursday asked the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and the Accountant General of the Federation (AGF) to explain disbursements
Chairman Senate Committee on Public Accounts, Senate Matthew Urhoghide, gave the directive in Abuja during a public hearing on the 2015 report of the Auditor General of the Federation.
The Auditor-General also faulted the “Non-Establishment of an Agency to administer the Ecological Fund” as provided for in the Revenue Allocation Act. A section of the Auditor-General’s report dealing with the “Non-Establishment of An Agency to administer the Ecological Fund” reads: “This Committee is located in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation and its Chairman is the Honourable Minister for Environment, Housing and Urban Development.
