President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will interface with Senators-elect and members-elect of the House of Representatives concerning the presiding officers of the
Notice of the meeting was conveyed in a letter addressed to the Senate and read by the Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege who presided over proceedings on Wednesday.
The letter reads: “I wish by this medium to invite all Senators-elect and House of Representative members – elect at the State house on Thursday 8th June 2023 by 2pm.” Even though the reason for the parly was not included in the letter, sources say the meeting might not be unconnected with the leadership of the 10th National Assembly.
The All Progressives Congress had earlier endorsed former governor of Akwa Ibom State, Godswill Akpabio and Senator representing Kano North, Barau Jibrin as Senate President and Deputy Senate President respectively. In the House of Representatives, Hon Tajudeen Abbas and Ben Kalu are also the referred candidates for the office of the speaker and deputy speaker by the APC.
