Senate Presidency: Don’t contest God’s will, Yari warns aspirants
“The Ogoni clean-up is doable. I believe that with the present President, it would be a reality. If Yari becomes Senate President, we will do our best for the betterment of the South-South. With your prayers, God who enthrones will put the royal cap on our head. We want to lead the National Assembly for a better Nigeria,” he said.
“We are here to tell you that we are with you. We will support you. We are with you in prayer. We are going to spread the news of our visit. We hope that God will hear our prayers and bless your ambition,” Okiro said. He said: “You will recall when the US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, spoke with President Bola Tinubu when he was President-elect few weeks ago; he advised that for Mr. President to succeed in office, the principle of mutual inclusiveness should be respected. We are concerned that the North has come up with the idea of balance. It’s advisable that the three arms of government-the executive, the legislature, and the judiciary—shouldn’t come from one part of the country, the South.

Senate okays appointment of 20 Special Advisers by TinubuThe Senate on Tuesday approved President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s request to appoint 20 Special Advisers. Tinubu’s letter of request was read at plenary by Senate President Ahmad Lawan. After the letter was read, Senate Leader, Senator Ibrahim Gobir (APC – Sokoto East) moved that “the Senate do consider the request of Mr. President C-in-C for the approval of the Senate to appoint 20 Special Advisers.” The motion was seconded by the Senate Minority Leader, Senator Philip Aduda.
