VOTING 21-0-0, the Senate on Thursday passed on third and final reading Senate Bill 2501 penalizing wilful and indiscriminate discharge of firearms.Sen. Ronald 'Bato' dela Rosa, sponsor of SB 2501, said the Filipinos 'are not strangers to the incidents that gave rise to the need for this measure.

'Sawa na tayo sa mga balitang ganito ,' said the chairman of the Senate Committee on Public Order and Illegal DrugsHe added, 'I said it before, and I will say it again, as a gun safety advocate, I condemn every senseless incident of injuries and loss of innocent lives because of reckless, careless and negligent use and handling of firearms.
