The Nigerian Senate on Wednesday said an official communication will be passed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, informing him of the election of senators
After hours of closed-door meeting on Wednesday, the Senate President said the communication was important in order to let the President know of the sitting of the 10th Senate.
He explained that the 10th Senate was ready to start receiving executive communication following its inauguration on Tuesday. The Red Chamber also resolved to communicate with the international parliamentary bodies on the assembly of the 10th Senate, as well as write a congratulatory message to the Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, on their election.
Meanwhile, the Senate set up a committee to look into the welfare of members, with Senator Isa Jibrin as chairman and subsequently adjourns sitting until July 4 without mentioning any development on the appointment of the Senate leader and the other principal officers.
