A 22 year-old security guard, Sunday Peter, on Tuesday appeared before an Okitipupa Chief Magistrates’ Court in Ondo State over alleged assault.
The Prosecutor, Insp. Ayodeji Omoyeigha told the court that the defendant committed the offences on Feb. 8, around 08:00 a.m. at Stella Maris Catholic Church, Okitipupa.
Omoyeigha said the defendant beat-up the complainant, Precious Akoh, after an argument ensued between them.“In the process of beating the complainant, the defendant broke four chairs, which were valued at N12, 000 property of the church,’’ he said. The prosecutor said the offences contravened Sections 355 and 451 of the Criminal Law of Ondo State, 2006.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr Dickson Ogunfuyi, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N50, 000 and a surety in like sum.The case was adjourned until April 4, for mention
