BREAKING: A major police search is underway after two young children went missing after a home invasion in Melbourne’s eastern suburb of Blackburn.
Victoria Police said a man entered a residential property on Springfield Road in Blackburn on Monday morning while a woman and her two children were inside.Security footage then showed him leaving the property just after 8.45am – the vehicle was last seen driving east along Springfield Road.
Police were called to the property about 8.55am for a welfare check and located the woman, but the two children, a girl aged 5 and a boy aged 3, were missing.Police are searching for this car, last seen driving east along Springfield Road.The man was described as having dark skin, wearing a black hooded jumper and a face mask.
A male resident of the address, who was not believed to have been at home at the time of the incident, was currently with officers, police said.Anyone who sees the black Mercedes should phone triple-0 immediately and anyone with other information should phone Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.Sign up
