The National Security Adviser, NSA, Nuhu Ribadu, has threatened legal actions against the Deputy governor of Kano State, Aminu Gwarzo over the Emirate tussle between Aminu Ado Bayero and Muhammed Sanusi. Ribadu threatened to institute a defamation suit against Gwarzo over his recent comment.
The Deputy Governor had accused Ribadu of providing air transport for the deposed Emir of Kano to return to the state. After the reinstatement of Muhammad Sanusi II, Bayero returned to the emirate on Saturday and moved into a palace in Nassarawa LGA of the state. However, the NSA denied all allegations against him. In a letter by his legal team, Aliyu & Musa Chambers, Ribadu charged Gwarzo to retract his claim or face legal action. The NSA also demanded an apology from Gwarzo.
“In all the places he has served, our client has never been accused of any wrongdoing. “Given this illustrious background, it is inconceivable that someone would harbour the thought that our client would descend his exalted office so low as to interfere in the local tussle of the Kano Emirate. “The wide coverage you gave your interview has caused serious embarrassment to our client and his family.
