Former Super Eagles head coach, Samson Siasia has been in the news in recent weeks. The former Nigeria international was linked with Nigeria National League, NNL, side, Mighty Jets, the Super Eagles and some clubs in South Africa.

This comes after the 57-year-old recently served out a five-year ban imposed on him by the Federation of International Football Association, FIFA, for breach of ethics.

reports that FIFA hit Siasia with a life ban from all football-related activities in 2019 over allegations of match-fixing. But upon appeal, Siasia's punishment was later reduced to a five-year ban by the Court of Arbitration for Sports . The former Nantes player completed the ban in August this year and is now free to return to football. Siasia is looking to get his coaching career back on track again after the lengthy absence from football.

on Monday to speak on reports linking him with both Nigerian and South African clubs and to talk about his next coaching plans after serving out his FIFA ban, Siasia declined to comment on the matter. According to Siasia, he doesn't want the 'whole world' to know about his next plans at the moment. Siasia said: 'I should tell you what I'm trying to do right? So that you can tell the whole world? 'Oga abeg fine somebody else go follow talk,' he stated.

, Wakanda FC coach, Orode Richard, insisted that it is a welcome development should Siasia end up joining a South African club. According to him, Siasia is a good coach and it would be better for him to rejuvenate his career again after what he went through. 'I think it is a very welcome development in my opinion that coach Samson Siasia is trying to rejuvenate his coaching career in the South African league.
