has set a target of gaining promotion with the Spanish Division two side as he brushed off suggestions that he would be leaving the club this summer.
The Rojiblancos failed to gain promotion to the La Liga last season despite some impressive outings and they begin their campaign on Saturday when they travel to the Estadio Cartagonova to face Cartagena, a tough ground where they failed to register a win last season. Speaking ahead of their league opener in a video posted on the club’s website, Sadiq said he was confident that the team would win their opening game as they began their quest to gain promotion to the top flight.
“I remember the game last season, when we lost in Cartagena. It is a very tough ground, but we are ready to go there and bring the three points; although we will have to be very focused and do things well. “We are ready to start the League well. We have done a very hard job and we have played the friendly matches that we needed so as to be ready for our rivals.”
