January 28, 2023 12:57 PMthe 2023 Australia Open women’s singles title.The Belarusian was crowned the new champion following a 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 win.Rybakina, who is the first player to take a set off Sabalenka this year, won the opening set 6-4.
The match which lasted 2hrs 28mins saw Sabalenka make nine unforced errors to Rybakina’s 13.Sabalenka has now set a record of 4-0 against Rybakina — Wimbledon, Abu Dhabi , Wuhan and Australia .Courtesy of her triumph at the 111th edition of the Australian Open, she is expected to become the No.2 ranked player.
