KOTA KINABALU : Sabah recorded 2,537 dengue fever cases as of June 26 with the highest number in Kota Kinabalu, says Sabah Health Department director Datuk Dr. Christina Rundi."As of Saturday , there were seven districts throughout Sabah reporting 17 active cases of dengue fever, ” she said in a statement here on Sunday .
She added that investigations by her Department found breeding grounds outside homes such as flower pots with water, uncovered water containers, and places with natural clear water. Dr Christina also urged the public to take the necessary measures to destroy the breeding grounds of the Aedes mosquito in their house compounds.
Meanwhile, she said, as of yesterday, Sabah also recorded 16 cholera cases, including two new ones, with one each in Semporna and Beaufort. "The new case in Beaufort makes it the latest district in Sabah to have the disease, ” she said. - Bernama
