EXCLUSIVE: Following the shock news that Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes have called it quits on their marriage, sources suggest things haven't always been rosy for the pair
When Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes announced they were heading for divorce after 14 years of marriage, fans were left utterly gobsmacked. But following years of spats on TV and cheeky digs at one another, it looks like trouble in paradise may well have been brewing for a while.
"Ruth and Eamonn have always said it like it is, to each other - they've both got really strong personalities. That's part of the reason they released their statement together, rather than separately, as they wanted to prevent things getting explosive," the source said. One moment included a segment on Loose Women just last year when Ruth admitted she often removed her wedding ring during any rows the couple would have. And, in 2020, Ruth revealed she and Eammon have "big rows and argue" away from the cameras.
Their rows on This Morning happened on a semi-regular basis but speculation about their 'fiery' marriage led many fans think the pair - who first met in 1995 while Eamonn was presenting GMTV - had secretly split. They hadn't appeared in each other's Instagram photos since July 2022 and has also been alleged that the pair actually split over a year ago, but Eamonn wanted to keep the news under wraps while they worked on their relationship.
