The weeklong training, which was carried out by a medical team from Stanford Royal Hospital, Manchester, United Kingdom, was aimed at strengthening the capacity of the hospital in delivering quality medical services to Rivers’ people.
Speaking with journalists in Port Harcourt yesterday, RSUTH acting chief medical director, Professor Chizindu Alikor expressed appreciation to Fubara for also approving other levels of sustained support that has continued to position the hospital to be among top ranking tertiary healthcare facilities in the country.
Alikor’s remark was sequel to the unscheduled visit undertaken by the governor last Sunday evening to inspect some installed equipment that were recently acquired for the hospital.The RSUTH boss, who conducted journalists round the Intensive Care Unit , Special Care Baby Unit , Radiography, Renal centre and the Modular Theatre, explained that the installed medical infrastructure in those units are top-notch, which has enhanced services delivery and make the hospital the best in the country.
Emphasizing that the Modular Theatre was being equiped for inauguration at the end of October 2023, Alikor said RSUTH has over 400 beds, ensures a 24 hour supply of power, has oxygen plant with piped oxygen to critical units, has ventilators, MRI and CT scan equipment.Also speaking, the consultant paediatrician in-charge of the Special Care Baby Unit, Dr.
