Peoples Democratic Party in Rivers State says it has paid the sum of N95 million for the use of public facilities in the state for its campaigns. The action is in compliance with precautionary payment of N5 million per venue stipulated in Executive Order 21.
A statement issued by the Chairman of the Publicity and Communications Committee of the New Rivers Vision Campaign Council, Ogbonna Nwuke, disclosed this yesterday.
The statement noted that the party had received an official approval from the office of the Commissioner for Education, Chinedum Mbom. Executive Order 21 prescribes payment of N5 million by political parties as condition for use of facilities such as schools.
“Sir, sequel to your compliance with the directive as contained in our letter, dated December 6, 2022, I hereby convey to you, my approval of your request for the use of state-owned schools’ facilities as indicated in the annexure to your application.”
