The Rivers state government has signed a memorandum of agreement (MoA) with SIX-EV Limited, an e-mobility company, to introduce electric three-wheelers and electric buses.

The project, led by Siminalayi Fubara, the governor of Rivers, aims to address the transportation needs of the residents by providing a reliable and eco-friendly option. Franklin Omene, a board member of SIX-EV, said the project is in alignment with Rivers state’s strategic goals for sustainable development and enhanced public health.Omene said SIX-EV will supply electric three-wheelers and buses designed to meet the needs of the state’s public transportation system.

He added that the vehicles will provide a cost-effective and clean alternative to traditional fossil fuel-based transport.“This project is a significant step toward achieving Governor Fubara’s vision for an accessible, sustainable public transportation system that directly benefits the people,” he said.
