Rivers: Deputy governorship candidate of Amaechi-backed AAC abandons party, backs Wike
Mr Wike, the governorship candidate of the PDP, is seeking re-election for a second term. He has been facing a tough battle from the APC and Mr Amaechi, who is Mr Wike’s political archrival.Mr Yeeh on Monday visited Mr Wike at the Government House, Port Harcourt, to formally inform the governor that he was no longer a deputy governorship candidate of the AAC.
The Rivers government has been gloating over the political development, circulating photos of Mr Yeeh’s visit on Facebook and Twitter.
