The National Democratic Coalition has urged democratic nations, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, and EU member states, to impose visa bans on Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State and select judges accused of undermining democracy.
Okwa Dan, NDC’s convener, accused the governor of manipulating elections and pressuring the judiciary to further authoritarian goals. The coalition particularly condemned Justices M. Danagogo and Wali for alleged politically motivated verdicts, labelling them “Brown Envelope Judges” who have eroded public confidence in the judiciary. In contrast, they praised judges like Chief Judge John Tsoho and Justice Joyce Abdulmalik for their integrity.
The coalition also commended the lawful suspension of federal revenue to Rivers State, describing it as a critical step toward accountability.
