Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has told the English Premier League club to pay Napoli’s £150m asking price for Nigeria international, Victor Osimhen.

Osimhen has emerged as a prime target for United this summer following his impressive display for the Serie A champions last season, helping the Parthenopeans to their first league title in 33 years.

The 24-year-old- prolific striker had an outstanding 2022/23 outing with Napoli, scoring 31 goals and providing five assists from just 39 appearances across all competitions. Red Devils manager Erik ten Hag is in desperate need of a new striker for next season given Anthony Martial’s fitness struggles and the return of Wout Weghorst to Burnley.

Harry Kane has always been the priority for the Red Devils but a strong resistance from Tottenham Hotspurs have forced United to back out of the deal for the England striker. With Kane unavailable, Ferdinand wants Manchester United to go all out for Napoli forward Victor Osimhen.
