Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has stated that Barcelona's rising star Lamine Yamal is already exceeding Lionel Messi's achievements at the same age.
Manchester United legend, Rio Ferdinand , has claimed that Lamine Yamal is better than Lionel Messi was at his age. The 17-year-old Yamal is now one of the most prominent players for Barcelona . Yamal, just like Messi, is a product of Barça's La Masia youth academy. Yamal played his first game for Barça's senior team in a LaLiga game in April 2023 and quickly rose to become a regular starter for Barca at an early age.
Yamal's immaculate ball control, dribbling, and playmaking capabilities have led to comparisons with Messi. 'I love Lamine Yamal. What a player. That’s why I’m here today. I want to see him, I want to hug him,' Ferdinand said at Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai. 'I don’t want to say Lamine Yamal will become the best player of all time, but I think he can.
