Analysts predict the Malaysian ringgit will remain within the range of RM4.50 against the US dollar in the new week of 2025. The local currency opened at 4.4570/4630 against the US dollar yesterday. Economists cite external macroeconomic factors, such as the Federal Reserve's interest rate trajectory and the economic direction of the US under President Donald Trump, as key influences on market sentiment.
PETALING JAYA: Ringgit dijangka bertahan pada julat sekitar RM4.50 berbanding dolar Amerika Syarikat untuk minggu baharu 2025, kata penganalisis ekonomi.Penganalisis ekonomi UniKL Business School, Prof Madya Dr Aimi Zulhazmi Abdul Rashid berkata, kedua-dua pasaran ekuiti dan mata wang ringgit diunjur didagangkan berhati-hati oleh para pengurus dana.
“Selain itu, pasaran juga menunggu hala tuju ekonomi terbesar dunia, AS selepas Presiden Donald Trump mengangkat sumpah pada 20 Januari nanti dan apakah beliau akan melaksanakan kenaikan tarif import kepada China, Canada dan Mexico yang dijangka memberi kesan besar kepada pertumbuhan perdagangan dunia.
Beliau menambah, mata wang AS juga dijangka terus mengukuh dengan faktor-faktor tadi dan ia juga dibantu oleh faktor seperti krisis geopolitik di Asia Barat dan Eropah Timur yang semakin meruncing dan berpotensi berskala lebih besar. Sementara itu, Malacca Securities Sdn. Bhd dalam nota penyelidikan yang mengulas mengenai strategi suku pertama 2025 berkata, hala tuju ringgit akan menjadi penting.
