Chukwuma Soludo, governor of Anambra, has rolled out interim palliative measures to cushion the rising cost of living for the residents of the state due to the removal of the petrol subsidy.
In a state broadcast on Monday, the governor announced that the government will distribute bags of rice to over 300,000 households in the coming weeks across the 326 wards in the state.
“The IGR payments of all transporters including keke, minibus, etc are hereby reduced by 20 percent with effect from September, 1. Soludo said he has also approved the repair of all serviceable public servants’ staff buses currently under the office of the head of the service to facilitate the movement of state workers.
