Revolutionary Socialist Movement Demands Return Of Fuel Subsidy, Reversal Of Fuel Price To N195 Per LitreRSM mentioned this in a press statement released on Monday by the group's Publicity Secretary, Salako Kayode, alleging that the removal of the subsidy had subjected Nigerians, particularly the poor masses, to a lot of economic hardship within the period of last two weeks.

According to RSM, the increase in fuel costs has produced hyperinflation, resulting in higher prices for critical goods such as food, drinks, and bread and making millions of Nigerians pay extra for transit due to the insufficient transport system. “Instead of combating corruption in the payment of petroleum subsidy, the administration decided to remove the subsidy, leading to an increase in the price of Premium Motor Spirit . This has significantly worsened the suffering of the working class and ordinary citizens.

“The labor union leaders consistently hold back the working masses against the ruling class. The left movement has been unfortunately weakened to the extent that there is no independent action by the leadership of the left and civil society organisations. “We demand the public prosecution of all individuals involved in the fuel subsidy scam. The impoverished population cannot continue to suffer from the perpetual corruption of the ruling elite.
