The Lagos State Government has said its reviewed Lagos State Unified Schemes of Work, learning devices and specialised e-books will promote deep learning for learners.

Speaking at the unveiling, Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, represented by the Secretary to State Government, Mrs Folashade Jaji, stated that the Lagos curriculum was holistically examined and it was re-engineered to meet the demands of modern education, without veering off the national benchmark provided by the Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council.

He said, “I wish to state that the Lagos State Unified Schemes of Work is a ground-breaking statutory document designed to revolutionise teaching and learning in schools in Lagos State. The framework for the new schemes is geared towards promoting deep learning and for learners to take ownership of knowledge acquisition through strategies that reflect 21st century skills and international best practices.

Also, Permanent Secretary, Mr Abayomi Abolaji, said, “We have changed the structure of the schemes of work in order to make learning more engaging and more students centred.
