The House of Representatives have been called upon not to politicize the ongoing clamour for the release of the leader of the indegenous people of Biafra (IPOB), Mr Nnamdi Kanu.[ad]The Save Nigeria Movement (SNM) in a petition to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dr Tajudeen Abbas frowned at the Hon Obinna Aguocha led Ad-hoc Committee for allegedly breaching the House resolution on the need to reduce kidnapping, assassinations and banditry in communities in Abia state.

SNM particularly accused Aguocha of of desperately seeking political relevance and survival at the expense of the innocent victims of IPOB and the Eastern security network . “As a group, we welcome every genuine attempt to restore peace in the region as long as it is clearly in the best interest of national security and the people of the region.”
