The House of Representatives and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs have disagreed on the call for retaliation over maltreatment of Nigerians in the country.
The House asked why Nigerians are not enjoying in other countries the privileges that foreigners enjoy in Nigeria.
They made the call when the House Committees on Diaspora and Foreign Affairs met with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nigerian Immigration Service and the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons. Earlier, Onyema told the committee that maltreatment of Nigerian citizens was not limited to Lebanon as other countries were guilty of similar offences. He, however, said Nigerian Government was doing a lot to address the issues.
