The Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Kingsley Chinda; embattled Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly,

Martin Amaewhule, and embattled Chairman of Obio Akpor Council, George Ariolu, and their supporters held a solidarity walk, yesterday, in support of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory , Nyesom Wike, while commending the Inspector General of Police for maintaining law and order in the state.

“We are in support of governance by law not by impunity. We are in support of the position of the IGP,” he said. Addressing the crowd, Amaewhule commended the people of Obio/Akpor for their peaceful disposition, saying that they believe in the rule of law and the Constitution of Nigeria. Also, the Chief of Staff to the FCT Minister, Chidi Amadi, stated that the gathering was an affirmation of trust and support to the President, Bola Tinubu, and Wike.

Reacting to the development, the Rivers State Government had directed all public and private owned medical facilities to be on the alert and look out for a young man that may present traumatically dismembered upper body injuries at the facilities, adding that such patients may be the perpetrators of the ugly incident.
