The governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Zamfara State, Dr. Ahmad Hashim has called on the State to as a matter of urgency
reopen the skills acquisition programs, initially shut down, for the development of youths in the State.
“It is very clear that 90 percent of the crimes in the State are being perpetrated by these unemployed youths and that the State government needs to do something about that”, he added. “Most of the people roaming in the streets of the State are the young ones that are supposed to be in the schools but they are doing nothing because they have no means of livelihood.
“Go to the State Ministry of Women and Children Affairs here in Gusau, the State capital, and you will discover that nothing is happening there, everywhere is just like a graveyard, even the orphans are in every street begging for alms”
