The Senator representing Lagos Central District, Mrs Oluremi Tinubu, has asked Muslims to continue to demonstrate love, tolerance, and discipline among others as they mark this year’s Eid-el-Fitr.
Congratulating the Muslim faithful on the successful observance of the Ramadan fast and commemoration of Eid-el-Fitr 2020, Tinubu noted that the lockdown occasioned by the COVID-19 pandemic had greatly affected a number of norms.
“Our total reliance on God in times like this, when help seems far-fetched, brings to the fore the greatness of God and the best in us. Interestingly, times like this are also a good time to birth new ideas and unearth discoveries for our survival, and for charting the way forward,” she said in a statement.
She said, “And while we may not be celebrating communally as we have in prior years, we must remember the vulnerable in our midst, lending a helping hand to those we can around us.
