August 1, 2024 7:46 pmHyacinth Alia, governor of Benue, has commended the state’s people for not participating in the ongoing end-bad governance protest.In a statement on Thursday, Alia said that not joining the protest shows that groups, unions, and people of the state kept to their words.
“The decision of the people to shelve the protest in the state demonstrates their firm belief in the policies of the APC-led administration in the country, saying it is an indication that the people are willing to give the government more time to improve on their welfare,” the statement reads.
He said his administration is committed to providing good governance, adding that it is the only way to reciprocate the love the people of the state have shown him. He urged Benue residents to continue to remain peaceful and also attend to their normal businesses during the period of the protest.
