Best creative mathematics teacher in Nigeria, Austin Orente, has appealed to the Federal Government to approve a date for conferment of Officer of Federal Republic (OFR) award on him.
The award was approved and recommended by the Federal Ministry of Education, following publication of his new Four Figure Table.
Orente told journalists in Asaba, the Delta State capital, yesterday, that the use of the new mathematics statistical table has solved the 10 years controversy surrounding its usage in place of the old one. He noted that with the new table, titled, ‘Mathematical, Statistical Tables and Formulae,’ students in secondary and tertiary education, currently having difficulty in solving mathematics, would now have course to smile, because the book was written to assist candidates in Senior Secondary Certificate Examination , General Certificate of Education , Advance/Ordinary level and other examinations.
He said the new table would help ß∑∑mathematics students solve mathematics without wasting much time and energy. According to the author, the Federal Ministry of Education, through the Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council , had evaluated and recommended the book for use since “there is no much difference between the book and West African Examination Council table.”
