Rehabilitate cyber-criminals, Ooni urges EFCC
The Ooni of Ife, Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has called on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission to go beyond merely arresting cyber-criminals by rehabilitating them.
Mr Ogunwusi, who decried the alarming rate of cybercrimes among Nigerian youth, said some of the perpetrators were ignorant of their actions and consequences. “Politicians will come and go, Nigeria will remain and that is why you must not let politicians direct how you operate,” the monarch said. Mr Elebo said that the commission had resolved to work with critical stakeholders, including the traditional institution.
