The Federal Government on Wednesday resolved to henceforth take decisive actions against rapists, saying the increasing cases are now embarrassing.

The decision was reached at the virtual meeting of the Federal Executive Council presided over by the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari .

“These are issues that were presented before the council and I am happy to announce that we got the full support of Mr President and all members of council, that government will take decisive actions at the highest level to protect women and children in this country,” the minister said. She however said members of the Nigeria Governors Forum had assured her of total support to end the scourge.
