The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company Plc has attributed the power outage currently being experienced in parts of the South-East to a rainstorm that occurred on Sunday which damaged some of its facilities.
A statement by the Head, Corporate Communications, EEDC, Emeka Ezeh, on Monday, said the situation resulted in faults occasioned by fallen trees and a high rate of broken high and low tension poles.
The EEDC supplies electricity to the South-East states such as Anambra, Imo, Enugu, Abia and Ebonyi states. According to Ezeh, the damage disrupted its 11KV and 33KV feeders across the business districts servicing the region. He said, “The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company Plc wishes to inform its esteemed customers across the South-East that the loss of supply in some areas within its network is due to the rainstorm which occurred on Sunday evening and early hours of Monday.
