PSHAN seeks growth of primary healthcare, commits N9.1 billion | The Guardian Nigeria News - Nigeria and World News

As part of efforts to improve health indices and rebuild trust in public health systems, Private Sector Health Alliance of Nigeria (PSHAN) has raised N9.1 billion to improve Primary Health Care (PHC).

Chief Executive Officer of PSHAN, Dr. Tinuola Akinbolagbe, who disclosed this at a media briefing in Lagos, yesterday, said a concept called Adopt-A-Healthcare Facility Programme was conceived by PSHAN with the aim of adopting and standardising at least one PHC in each of the 774 local councils.

She disclosed that ADHFP is central to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and Universal Health Coverage. She also said that the existing facilities under ADHFP could either be refurbished , or new facilities built from scratch . According to her, the nation’s PHC deserves global health standard, adding that the current state of PHC system in Nigeria is appalling with about 20 per cent of the 30,000 PHC facilities across Nigeria working.
