There is apprehension in Farin Lamba community in the Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State following a protest by residents against the reported killing of six youths by suspected gunmen on Tuesday night at a mining site. It was learnt that some gunmen attacked a mining site in Farin Lamba on Tuesday night and killed no fewer than six youths. Residents of the community have blamed the bloody attack on suspected herdsmen.

It was gathered that protesting women of the community blocked the Farin Lamba-Abuja Road as early as 8:00 am on Wednesday, hindering motorists from entering and exiting Jos despite the presence of security operatives, The Nation reports. This left many travellers stranded along Mararaban Jama’a with many commuters making a U-turn.
It was reported that members of the community also attacked security operatives deployed in the area.
