Proper medical waste disposal crucial to COVID-19 containment –Mustapha

Secretary to Government of the Federation and Chairman, Presidential Task Force on COVID19, Boss Mustapha, has called on frontline health workers and hospital administrators to always ensure that used personal protective equipment and other hospital wastes are properly disposed to avoid further spread of COVID-19.

The PTF chairman noted that those three children represent a clear danger to themselves, family and the immediate community. “Every year an estimated 16 000 million injections are administered worldwide, but not all of the needles and syringes are properly disposed of afterwards.
