LAGOS State Ministry of Education has said that all private schools in the state were expected to register with the Office of Education Quality Assurance.

The Director General, OEQA, Mrs Abiola Seriki-Ayeni, said it was mandatory for private school owners in Lagos State to register with the OEQA before re-opening of schools.

She explained that OEQA evaluators would be visiting private schools across the six education districts to ensure compliance. “They are enjoined to visit our website to register their schools. School owners are advised to strictly comply with this directive that will be of immense benefit to them. “Evaluators will be out to monitor compliance after the expiration of the timeline. OEQA is releasing guidelines for the safe re-opening of schools and learning facilities to safeguard learners, teachers, workers and parents during this time.

“Few of what should be expected are thorough fumigation of all school environments, including classrooms, chairs and desk, provision of running water and washing hand soap, provision of hand sanitiser, wearing of facemasks, avoiding close contact with anyone showing symptoms of respiratory illness and maintaining social distance,” she explained. All rights reserved.
